Registration of Trademarks
Trademark registration in Myanmar is less developed that in much of the rest of Asia, however FocusCore has experts available to guide you through the registration processes for your business.
Trademark registration takes about one month to process in Myanmar. It is necessary to provide a specimen of your trademark with a detailed description of the related goods or services associated with the trademark. Required documentation includes a Power of Attorney and a Declaration of Ownership of Trademark, both of which must be notarized. The final stage will be to display a Cautionary Notice in a local English language newspaper which will detail the particulars of the trademark, such as the name of owner, and provides a warning against trademark infringement and counterfeiting.
The validity period of trademark registration is not prescribed by existing Myanmar laws, however we advise renewal every three years and FocusCore can assist with that.
